The classic 1973 horror flick The
Exorcist (Extended Director's Cut & Original Theatrical Edition
Blu-ray) is one of the scariest movies ever, and it sure
delivers the visual and audio jolts in a new high-definition
Blu-ray release.
Linda Blair was just 14 when gave a stunning
performance as Regan, a normal, happy 12-year-old girl whose
behaviour becomes increasingly erratic and frightening. Her
actress mother (Ellen Burstyn) sees professional medical help,
but physicians and psychologists can mae little sense of the
demons that seem to haunt the child.
Slowly, Regan's bedroom becomes the centre of
bizarre and frightening events as Regan seems to be a channel
to Hell itself. Outside the home, a movie director working
with Regan's mother, dies a horrible death
A dictor suggests Regan`s nightmares are all
in her mìnd and says an exorcism by a priest might
help the girl get rid her of her "imaginary" demons.
Jason Miller and Max von Sydow play the priests
who risk their lives when they go to Regan`s bedroom to confront
the Devil himself.
The story has its roots ina documented case
of supposed demonic possession from the 1940s. Winner of two
Oscars, The Exorcist is very well acted and and it looks flawless
on Blu-ray.
Now it`s just a movie, but be warned - it is
very disturbing for some people!
Two versions of the movie are included in the
new 2-disc Blu-ray release: The original theatrical release
(122 mins) and the extended director's cut (132 mins). There's
also a 40-page illustrated book, plus numerous featurettes.
