Wesley
Snipes once again goes straight-to-DVD in this routine CIA
killer yarn.
I
actually feel a bit sorry for Snipes playing in these crappy
movies when he is a good actor worthy of better roles. Then
again, nobody's forcing him to take these parts.
Snipes
plays retired assassin James Dial who is paid a visit at his
Montana ranch by his old CIA boss Collins (Ralph Brown) and
given the chance to kill a ruthless terrorist who escaped
Dial once before.
Dial
travels to London, where he kills the terrorist, but is badly
hurt in the subsequent escape from British police in which
his British contact is killed. Dial finds unexpected help
at a safe house from Emily (Eliza Hope Bennett), a troubled,
but resourceful 14 year old who brings him food and medicine.
With
police closing in, Dial discovers he has been set up as Collins
and a hit squad of CIA goons also pursue him in an attempt
to cover the tracks of their illegal covert operations, which
are subject of an investigation in America.
Formulaic
and routine, the movie has its moments, particularly in the
relationship between Dial and Emily, but it heads towards
an inevitable conclusion as the body count piles up..
A
making-of featurette is included.
